Libraries and the artist community share a natural connection. Librariescelebrate art in all its forms and provide the stage for many artists toconnect with their audience. This spring libraries have the opportunityto help secure the future vitality of our cultural community.
The Artists Foundation, a non-profit Massachusetts art organizationestablished to foster development of artists in all disciplines (visual, literary, performing, craft, etc..), is currently collecting data inorder to better understand and support Massachusetts artists and theirneeds.
Libraries may assist the Artists Foundation by making theirquestionnaire Stand Up and Be Counted available on their librarywebsite. The questionnaire may be completed on-line atwww.artistsfoundation.org <http://www.artistsfoundation.org/> can bedownloaded off the Artists Foundation's website, or artists may requestthat it be mailed to them by calling 617-464-3559. By encouraging localartists to participate in this survey, the library will be reaching outto this important part of our community.
All of the aggregate data collected through the questionnaire will beavailable free on-line while preserving the privacy and data integrityof individual survey records (personal contact information will not bepublically shared).
